About the team
Klaviyo operates a real-time data analytics platform, coded primarily in Python, that is built for massive scale and hosted on AWS. The Product Merchandising team falls under our Intelligence group and helps Klaviyo’s customers make the most out of their catalog. By connecting to a variety of e-commerce integrations we extract vast amounts of data to enrich it and create great customer experiences across different channels.
We are a multidisciplinary team of 7, working with one of the richest datasets at Klaviyo, catalogs. Catalogs is an exciting dataset containing both tabular structured data as well as unstructured data like text and images from products. This allows us to work on very challenging and interesting problems and apply a wide variety of techniques.
Today we have a big focus on recommender systems both rule-based and algorithmic, but we continue to expand our product offering by building the necessary tools to bring intelligence to our customers' catalogs with the goal of enabling their buyers to find the products they need when they need them.
About the role
As a Senior Full Stack Data Scientist, you’ll be responsible for developing E2E Data Science solutions. You will work closely with Product, Design and Engineering peers, to build solutions end-to-end, from prototyping to production while getting exposed to all the systems in the process. You will have ownership of the technical implementations of our data solutions and are expected to contribute to our vision by informing technical decisions and applying State of the Art technologies to our problems.
How you’ll have an impact
- Improve existing models and processes to drive key success metrics
- Build new solutions at scale to support our new customer experiences
- Apply a diverse set of of statistical techniques to reach conclusions on experiments
- Be the subject matter expert in Data Science and Machine Learning for our team
- Collaborate with peers in other teams to define good practices and bring the learnings to our team
What we’re looking for
- 5+ years of experience working with Machine Learning models at scale in a production setting
- Have broad understanding of Machine Learning techniques and their applications (classification, regression, clustering and segmentation, anomaly detection, representation learning..)
- Have business instinct, and are obsessed with driving impact
- Ambiguous and open-ended requests don’t scare you. You take a methodical approach to problem-solving and know how to ask the right questions when you don’t have all the answers.
- Have in-depth understanding of Machine Learning model’s lifecycle
- Able to effectively communicate about complex topics with non-technical audiences
Nice to have
- Prior experience working with agile methodologies
- Familiarity with Recommender Systems
- Comfortable with our tech stack: AWS, RDS, EC2, RabbitMQ, Kafka, Spark, Ray
